Setting
Situated at an elevation of 7,800 feet among aspens and pines, Obsidian Campground sits near Molybdenite Creek and the trout-stocked Little Walker River. The facility is best suited for small vehicles and tent campers, offering sites with picnic tables and campfire rings alongside public vault toilets. There is no potable water or garbage service, requiring visitors to pack out all trash. Trailheads adjacent to the campground access routes into the Hoover Wilderness, a loop along Wheeler Creek from Burt Canyon, and a steep hike up Mount Emma to Emma Lake.
