Setting
Aspen Group Campground sits at an elevation of 8,100 feet in a stand of aspen trees along cascading Rock Creek in Inyo National Forest. The primitive group site accommodates up to 25 guests with space for tents or RVs and is equipped with flush toilets, drinking water, and group picnic tables. Situated in Rock Creek Canyon between Bishop and Mammoth Lakes, the setting offers views of high Sierra peaks. Rock Creek provides stream fishing for brook, brown, and rainbow trout, while nearby canyon trails cater to hikers and mountain bikers.
Getting there: From Bishop, California, take Highway 395 northwest for 25 miles. Turn south at Tom's Place, and continue driving south for 4 miles onto Rock Creek Road, following signs to the campground.
