Group campsite within 74-acre McConnell State Recreation Area on Merced River banks, 4 miles east of Delhi. Accommodates up to 50 people and 12 vehicles with electric hookups (20-amp), fire rings, picnic tables, barbecue facilities, showers, and flush toilets on firm grass surface. Merced River offers catfish, bass, and perch fishing; swimming and wading. Shaded grounds with grassy fields. Named for Thomas McConnell, who homesteaded the site in 1871. Spring and fall provide excellent fishing opportunities.
