Manchester State Park's primary campground occupies 5,272 acres with 18,000 feet of protected Pacific beachfront seven miles north of Point Arena in Mendocino County. The 36-site campground sits on sand dunes and grasslands overlooking five miles of sandy beach accessible via Highway 1. Steelhead and salmon fishing draw visitors to Brush Creek and Alder Creek; facilities include restrooms, drinking water, and access to tide pools, driftwood gathering, and wildflower viewing. Kelp forests provide diving opportunities for experienced divers; the San Andreas Fault is visible where it meets the sea.
