Willow Placer Campground sits on the shore of the Wild and Scenic Merced River, located 3.6 miles downstream from the Briceburg Suspension Bridge. The layout includes eight walk-in campsites within 100 feet of the water—accessed via crushed rock paths—and one drive-up group site within 200 feet of the river. Sites feature picnic tables, fire rings, and bear-proof food lockers, with vault toilets and trash collection on site. The location offers river access for whitewater rafting, swimming, and gold panning, with the Merced River Trail located a short drive downstream.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.

Telegraph Hill stands 2,343 ft above the site, 1.7 miles southwest. Merced River runs 0.1 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a 9-site campground. Mostly tent-only sites. The nearest town, Mariposa, is 8.5 mi off.

September normals 6195°F, 0.2″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
