2.5 of the 6.8 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Mostly gravel, with 1.4 miles of dirt. Climbs 980 ft over 6.8 miles -- sustained grades near 14%, with pitches to 31%. Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~120 ft on the downhill side. Winds through 8 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch.
A well-travelled stretch -- travellers have camped along here. The nearest town, Pine Mountain Lake, is 6.0 mi off.
