Walk-in tents-only campground on Mount Tamalpais State Park slopes at 1,400 feet elevation. 16 sites scattered under towering Douglas firs; 100-300 yard walks from parking area. Each site has picnic table, fire ring, and food locker. Water and flush toilets provided; no showers. Direct trail access to Mount Tam's summit, Stinson Beach, and Muir Woods. Redwood groves and mossy canyons. First-come, first-served; popular with day hikers. Panoramic Highway location offers views of Bay Area landmarks.
