Setting
Kelty Meadow Campground is an equestrian-friendly facility at 3,400 feet in the Sierra National Forest, set among pine and cedar trees along Kelty Creek. The open campsites feature picnic tables, campfire rings, and grills, with space for tents, slide-ins, and small horse trailers; select sites include hitching posts. Vault toilets are on site, and while drinking water is not provided, stock water can be drawn from the creek. Visitors come for horseback riding on nearby logging roads and to reach Bass Lake for boating, swimming, and fishing, or the Shadow of the Giants trail for giant sequoias.
Getting there: Traveling north on Highway 41, approximately 3 miles out of Oakhurst, take Road 632 (aka Sky Ranch Road) 8 miles to the Y junction of 632 and 6S40. Stay left at the Y and go 3 miles to Kelty Meadow Campground on the left side of the road.
