Setting
Forks Campground sits on a forested hillside overlooking Bass Lake at 3,400 feet in the Sierra National Forest. Shaded by cedar, ponderosa pine, and oak, the camp features sites adjacent to a creek and a few with lake views. Visitors use the site to reach Bass Lake's beach and boat ramp for swimming, motorized and non-motorized boating, water skiing, sailing, and fishing for bass, trout, and catfish. On-site amenities include paved parking spurs, picnic tables, pedestal grills, stone fire rings, drinking water, and flush toilets. The 2.6-mile Goat Mountain Trail connects directly to the loop.
Getting there: From Fresno, California: Take Highway 41 north through Oakhurst. Turn right on Forest Road 222 (toward Bass Lake), keep right for 3.5 miles to the Bass Lake Campground office. After registering, continue on for approximately 1.25 miles to the Forks Campground.
