Codorniz Campground sits on the shore of H.V. Eastman Lake, a 1,780-acre reservoir on the Chowchilla River set in the Sierra Nevada foothills of oak trees and rolling grassland. The park is a popular fishing spot designated as a Trophy Bass Fishery. Campsites offer a mix of electric and non-electric sites, alongside dedicated horse camping corrals. On-site facilities include boat ramps, fish cleaning stations, showers, disc golf, horseshoe pits, and a volleyball area. The surrounding public lands attract bobcats, mountain lions, hawks, and golden eagles, with Sierra National Forest just to the east.
