Agnew Horse Camp sits at 8,400 feet elevation in Reds Meadow Valley, surrounded by lodgepole pines, mountain peaks, and small creeks. Designed for equestrian use, the facility provides 4 campsites equipped with individual horse corrals, set adjacent to the main Agnew Meadows area. The narrow, single-lane access road limits vehicles to a maximum length of 25 feet. Anglers can fish the North Fork San Joaquin River, while riders and hikers have quick access to the High, Shadow Creek, and River Trails entering the Ansel Adams Wilderness and Pacific Crest Trail network.
Getting there: From U.S. Highway 395, take Highway 203 west through the town of Mammoth Lakes. Pass Mammoth Mountain Ski Area to Minaret Vista. Continue on Red's Meadow Road to the Agnew Meadows turnoff, about 2.5 miles.
