Setting
Set at 4,500 feet on the backside of the San Gabriel Mountains in the Mojave Desert, South Fork Campground sits in a steep canyon between Mt. Islip and Vasquez Rocks. The grounds feature 21 campsites that accommodate RVs up to 16 feet, each furnished with a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. No drinking water is provided, but vault toilets are available. Trails leading directly from camp access Big Rock Creek, seasonal waterfalls, the Manzanita Trail, and the geologically distinct Devil's Punchbowl. Nearby activities include fishing and horseback riding.
