Setting
Los Alamos Campground sits in the open hills of Angeles National Forest above the Santa Clarita Valley, near the 1,300-acre Pyramid Lake. The grounds feature 90 single-family sites and three 40-person group sites, mostly with gravel parking aprons. Amenities include picnic tables, grills, volleyball courts, flush toilets, drinking water, a dump station, and a camp store. Pyramid Lake offers 21 miles of shoreline for jet skiing, boating, and fishing for bass and trout. Nearby points of interest include the Vista Del Lago Visitor Center and the Hungry Valley Off-Road Area.
Getting there: From Valencia, California, drive 20 miles north on Interstate 5, then take the Smokey Bear exit west. Make a left on Pyramid Lake Road. Take a right at Hard Luck Road and continue 1.5 miles to the campground.
