Emigrant Landing is a day-use area at the northern end of 1,300-acre Pyramid Lake, located in the hills above the Santa Clarita Valley. Built for lake recreation, the facility features a large sandy swim beach, shaded picnic shelters, picnic tables, drinking water, and flush toilets. Water sports drive activity here, backed on-site by a full boat launch and an accessible fishing pier targeting bass, trout, crappie, and bluegill. Up the road, the Vista Del Lago Visitor Center provides elevated views across the reservoir alongside exhibits on California water systems.
Getting there: From Valencia, California, drive 20 miles north on Interstate 5, then take the Smokey Bear exit west. Make a left on Pyramid Lake Road. Continue on Pyramid Lake Road until you reach the entrance kiosk to Emigrant Landing at Pyramid Lake.
