Setting
Jackson Flats is a group tent-camping facility located at 7,500 feet elevation in the Angeles National Forest, set among pine and fir trees near the Grassy Hollow Visitor Center. Sites sit 600 feet from the main parking area and include large picnic tables, campfire circles, grills, bear-proof food storage lockers, and potable water. Walkers can access short loop trails on site or take a connector trail to the Pacific Crest Trail. The nearby town of Wrightwood offers dining and a disc golf course.
Getting there: From Wrightwood, turn left onto CA-2 W/Angeles Crest Highway and go 6.1 miles. Look for signs and turn right. Drive 1.2 miles past Grassy Hollow Visitor Center and into the campground.
