Red Tail Rim Trail South Trailhead is a staging area in Modoc National Forest, accessed from Adin. The site features a vault toilet and hitching posts but no potable water. It serves as the south terminus of the Red Tail Rim Trail designated for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. No fees. Open early June to late October; in winter it becomes a Nordic ski/snowshoe trail. Ash Creek Campground is nearby.
