Ramhorn Springs Campground sits in a high desert environment centered on a historic water source used for generations by ranchers and travelers. The site consists of 10 primitive units built on packed earth and gravel. On-site facilities include an informational kiosk, picnic tables, fire rings, trash cans, a vault toilet, and a horse corral. There is no potable water available on site. Shade is extremely limited across the campground grounds.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.

A body of water lies 0.2 mi off. Spanish Springs Peak stands 1,799 ft above the site, 2.2 miles northeast. The nearest town, Susanville, is 27 mi off.
