Juniper Lake Group in CA -- Campground & RV Camping

Juniper Lake Group Campground sits at 6,800 feet on the eastern shore of Juniper Lake in the southeastern portion of Lassen Volcanic National Park. It features two tent-only group sites with direct lake access for non-motorized boating and swimming, offering direct views of 10,457-foot Lassen Peak. On-site amenities are limited, and no drinking water is provided. Main trailheads leading into the park interior and to Horseshoe Lake and Snag Lake begin at the facility, including the Mount Harkness Trail, which ascends to an active historic fire tower. Nearby park features include active mud pots and steam vents.

Getting there: From the Red Bluff (I.5), drive east on state HWY 36 approximately 70 miles to Chester. Turn left at fire station immediately after crossing Feather River Bridge (watch for National Park Service sign on right) continue approximately 13 miles follow signs to Juniper Lake Campground and Group Campsite Area. Campground access is via paved and dirt road, last 6 miles is narrow, rough and dusty dirt road.
