Fifty primitive sites nestle against the base of dramatic White House Cliffs within Red Rock Canyon State Park's Mojave Desert landscape. Sites vary from walk-in areas among Joshua trees to locations in cave-like chambers carved into cliff bases by millions of years of erosion. Each site includes tables, fire rings, and pit toilets; potable water available. Weathered volcanic buttes and fantastical rock formations rise above, their colors shifting from gold to crimson as the sun moves across the sky. Tributary canyons showcase variations in rock shapes.
