Setting
Paradise Cove Campground sits in Sequoia National Forest near Lake Isabella, an 11,000-acre reservoir on the Kern River. The facility contains 46 campsites divided into an upper loop with back-in sites and a lower loop with side-by-side parking, all offering lake views. The surrounding terrain ranges from mountain slopes to river canyons. Lake Isabella provides year-round recreation, including swimming, water skiing, windsurfing, and fishing for trout, bass, catfish, and crappie.
Getting there: From Bakersfield, California, take Highway 178 east to the town of Lake Isabella. Staying on 178 east, travel approximately 3 miles to Paradise Cove Campground.
