Dove Springs OHV Area comprises 5,000 acres of open public lands north of Red Rock Canyon State Park in western Kern County. The landscape shifts from sandy bowls ideal for cross-country riding to steep hill climbs, with sparse desert vegetation and exposed terrain. Primitive camping is available throughout the area with minimal developed infrastructure. Visitors should bring water and pack out all trash, as services are limited. The OHV terrain connects to hundreds of miles of regional trail riding, making Dove Springs a gateway for extended backcountry touring and skill-building for off-highway vehicles.
