Setting
Small tent-only campground at Sue-meg State Park, 25 miles north of Eureka on California's rugged Humboldt coast. Fourteen sites nestle beneath Sitka spruce and hemlock forest at 120 feet elevation. Each site has a fire ring, picnic table, and food locker; flush toilets and coin-operated showers serve the loop. Short trails lead to Agate Beach tide pools, the recreated Yurok village Sumeg, Wedding Rock, Ceremonial Rock, and ocean-bluff hiking where gray whales pass seasonally.
