Elk Prairie Campground within Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park features a rare coastal-redwood setting where Roosevelt elk graze open meadows ringed by old-growth forest, all overlooking sandy beaches near Orick in Humboldt County. The campground offers year-round camping with drinkable water, restrooms, hot coin-operated showers, and four ADA-accessible cabins with electricity and heat. The 75-mile trail network includes a 19-mile bike loop and three scenic drives through the dramatic landscape of towering redwoods, prairie, and coast.
