Sue-meg State Park's campgrounds sit on a forested headland 30 miles north of Eureka on the Humboldt County coast. The park features three campgrounds—Penn Creek, Abalone, and Agate Beach—spread across tree-covered meadows and headlands. Campsites accommodate tents, RVs, group camping, and hike-and-bike sites with restrooms, showers, water, and picnic areas. Agate Beach itself is a broad sandy strand where visitors collect semi-precious stones and explore tide pools. The park's sea cliffs and offshore rocks host seal, sea lion, and migrating whale viewing. A reconstructed Yurok plank-house village offers cultural interpretation.
