Setting
Deer Creek Campground sits under dense firs and pines on the shore of Huntington Lake, divided into two loops: one heavily forested loop along the water with boat mooring, and one open loop near Lakeshore. All sites have lake views, paved spurs, tables, fire rings, and grills. Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, and a pay phone. Huntington Lake offers sailing, swimming, and fishing, while nearby trails include Rancheria Falls, Black Point, and the Kaiser Loop Trail into the Kaiser Wilderness. The Billy Creek Guard Station Museum is adjacent.
Getting there: Take Hwy 168 east from Clovis to Shaver Lake. Continue through Shaver Lake to Huntington Lake. Continue around Huntington Lake for 1.2 miles to Deer Creek Campground.
