Setting
Badger Flats Group Camp occupies a flat area shaded by fir trees at 8,000 feet elevation along Rancheria Creek. The facility accommodates up to 100 people and 35 vehicles, offering site units equipped with grills, fire rings, picnic tables, and bear-proof food lockers. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no drinking water on-site. Horses are allowed, though no equestrian facilities exist. A sandy creek bank allows wading, and nearby trails connect to the Kaiser Wilderness and California Riding and Hiking Trail. Huntington Lake sits 5 miles away.
Getting there: Take Hwy 168 east from Clovis to Shaver Lake. Continue through Shaver Lake to Huntington Lake. At the east end of Huntington Lake, turn right onto Kaiser Pass Road (at Eastwood Visitor Center). Travel 5 miles up the Kaiser Pass Road to Badger Group Campground.
