Ponderosa Cove is a group campground located at 4,400 feet elevation in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Eldorado National Forest, across the road from Stumpy Meadows Reservoir. The single-loop site accommodates up to 75 campers and features five RV parking spurs with picnic tables, ten walk-to tent pads, vault toilets, and drinking water. Stumpy Meadows is a no-wake lake used for swimming, boating, and trout fishing, with additional picnic space available at the nearby boat ramp. Over 400 miles of national forest hiking trails are accessible in the surrounding region.
