PiPi Campground is set at 4,100 feet elevation in a dense cedar and fir forest in Eldorado National Forest. Located along the Middle Fork of the Cosumnes River, the site offers three camp loops for tent and RV camping with paved parking aprons, vault toilets, drinking water, and a riverfront picnic area. A paved, wheelchair-accessible fishing walkway extends nearly a mile along the river, where stocked rainbow trout draw anglers. Interpretive programs run during peak season.

Road difficulty 3 of 5 -- a rough drive in. Recorded as maintained only for high-clearance vehicles, gravel, pitching to 10%, 70% of it on a shelf. Overhead clearance here is posted at 15 ft -- the tightest site sets the limit. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.

Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.2 miles off, a 73-site campground. 1 hike-in site -- most of them shaded. Middle Fork Cosumnes River runs 0.4 mi off. Armstrong Hill stands 1,465 ft above the site, 3.6 miles southeast. The nearest town, Grizzly Flats, is 6.8 mi off.

September normals 5281°F, 0.5″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
