Ice House Campground sits on the shore of the 700-acre Ice House Reservoir in Eldorado National Forest at 5,500 feet elevation. Surrounded by tall ponderosa pines, cedars, and manzanita, the newly renovated site offers both direct shoreline spots and shaded inland sites. Visitors come to swim, jet ski, and fish for rainbow and brown trout using the on-site boat ramp. The 3.1-mile Ice House Mountain Bike Trail starts here, threading along ridge tops toward views of the Crystal Range. Facilities include drinking water, vault toilets, showers, a dump station, a picnic area, and firewood sales.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.

A canal runs 0.1 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.6 miles off, a 90-site campground. Most of them shaded. Crystal Range stands 4,485 ft above the site, 10 miles east. The nearest town, Pollock Pines, is 13 mi off.

September normals 5275°F, 0.5″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
