Emerald Bay Boat-In Campground occupies the north shore of Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe, accessible only by boat or hiking trail. Lakefront campsites with buoy moorings for personal watercraft, pier access, and seasonal restrooms. Granite formations frame the bay; Fannette Island hosts a historic tea house. Vikingsholm, a Scandinavian castle replica, anchors the area with a challenging 2-mile round-trip trail. The Rubicon Trail connects multiple parks around the bay. Designated underwater state park preserves historic watercraft below. Part of Emerald Bay State Park, a National Natural Landmark.
