Located on the 4,400-acre New Hogan Lake in the Sierra Nevada foothills, Deer Flat Campground is a boat-in facility featuring 30 tent-only sites. Each site is equipped with a fire pit and lantern holder, with vault toilets and trash receptacles on site. Campers launch boats and park at the Fiddleneck Day Use Area. The lake attracts visitors for water skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, and year-round bass and catfish fishing. The surrounding oak and brush landscape supports black-tailed deer, eagles, and wild turkeys.
