Calabasas Group Campground is a private, reservable site for up to 250 people located at 4,000 feet elevation in the Coronado National Forest. Set in a shallow, oak-shaded grassy valley, the layout includes 14 picnic tables, 12 campfire rings with grills, three pedestal barbecues, benches, parking, and toilets. No drinking water is provided. Pathways lead to low hilltops with views of surrounding valleys. The campground sits a short distance from 45-acre Peña Blanca Lake, which offers year-round fishing, boating, and birding, and is near historic sites at Tumacácori and Tubac.

Road difficulty 3 of 5 -- a rough drive in. Recorded as maintained only for high-clearance vehicles, dirt, pitching to 4%.

A group campground -- most of them shaded. Rock Tank lies 0.5 mi off. Night skies measure Bortle 3 -- a dark rural sky. Pajarito Peak stands 1,188 ft above the site, 2.7 miles southwest. The nearest town, Nogales, is 7.2 mi off.
