Whitetail Campground sits at an elevation of 8,000 feet on the slopes of the Santa Catalina Mountains, five miles south of Summerhaven and Mt. Lemmon. Shaded by ponderosa pine forest, the facility caters to groups for day or overnight use. It features five group areas accommodating 40 to 90 people each, equipped with picnic shelters, drinking water, small-appliance electrical outlets, vault toilets, and trash collection. Nearby activities include hiking forest trails and fishing for stocked trout at Rose Canyon Lake.

Getting there: From Tucson, Arizona, go north on Catalina Highway approximately 30 miles from Tucson until you reach Milepost 20. Turn Left on Whitetail Road.
