Setting
Showers Point Group Site sits at 7,700 feet high on the slopes of the Santa Catalina Mountains in Coronado National Forest. Set among ponderosa pines and Gambel oak, the campground features an overlook with views of Palisade Canyon, the Santa Cruz Valley, and Mt. Wrightson. The facility has three tent-only group sites, each with large leveled tent pads and picnic shelters, with water faucets and toilets on site. Nearby recreation includes fishing at the six-acre Rose Canyon Lake, driving the Sky Island Scenic Byway, and hiking the Palisade Trail down to Sabino Canyon Recreation Area.
Getting there: From Tucson, Arizona, go northeast on Catalina Highway approximately 30 miles from Tucson until just before Milepost 20. Turn left on Organization Ridge Road and travel 1.2 miles to Showers Point.
