Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area sits within the colorful sandstone and limestone walls of the Virgin River Gorge off I-15. The facility features 108 paved campsites with pull-through parking, picnic tables, and fire pits or grills, including 12 sites with shade shelters and 8 ADA-compliant sites. On-site amenities offer drinking water and flush toilets, though there are no hookups or dump stations. Scenic trails lead directly to the Virgin River, with the Sullivan Canyon Trail providing access into the adjacent Paiute Wilderness.
Getting there: Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area is located along Interstate 15 approximately 20 miles southwest of St. George, Utah and approximately 20 miles northeast of Mesquite, Nevada. The recreation area is at the Cedar Pocket Exit (Mile Post 18).
