Mesquite Campground offers 12 shaded sites under a mesquite canopy a short walk from the Verde River. Located along an unpaved road near Horseshoe Reservoir, the site is non-reservable and not recommended for trailers. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, grill, and fire ring. There are no trash services or drinking water on site. The adjacent river provides options for swimming, stream fishing, and non-motorized boating, with OHV routes and hiking trails located nearby.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.
Verde River runs 0.3 mi off. Willow Spring Mountain stands 3,071 ft above the site, 3.8 miles west. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a 4-site campground. Night skies measure Bortle 3 -- a dark rural sky. The nearest town, Carefree, is 15 mi off.
