Horseshoe Campground is a 12-site primitive facility along an unpaved road near Horseshoe Reservoir and Dam. Situated among mesquite trees with views of the surrounding mountains, the site offers direct Verde River access from campsites 11 and 12. Sites include picnic tables and fire pits for rigs under 16 feet. There are no trash services or drinking water available. The location supports non-motorized river boating, fishing, swimming, OHV routes, and wildlife viewing, with bald eagles frequently spotted nearby.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
Verde River runs 0.1 mi off. Willow Spring Mountain stands 3,070 ft above the site, 3.9 miles west. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a 4-site campground. Night skies measure Bortle 3 -- a dark rural sky. The nearest town, Carefree, is 16 mi off.
