Built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, Cave Creek Group Site is nestled in a narrow valley of juniper and sycamore trees alongside a shallow, spring-fed creek. The site includes jasper and fieldstone picnic tables, two covered ramadas, three central grills, a food prep area, a campfire ring, vault toilets, and a outdoor game area. Visitors come for group camping, birdwatching, and access to the nearby Cave Creek Trailhead, which opens to over 48 miles of hiking and biking trails. The historic Sears-Kay Ruin is seven miles away.
