Stockton Campground is located at the 5,600-foot apex of Stockton Pass in the Pinaleño Mountains. Set in a high-desert landscape of oak woodland and grassland, it offers panoramic mountain views. The facility features a single group campsite for up to 30 people, equipped with several picnic tables, pedestal grills, campfire rings, vault toilets, and bear-proof trash cans. The nearby Shake Trail #309 provides direct access for hikers climbing up toward Swift Trail, while State Route 266 offers a scenic drive connecting Sulphur Springs Valley to nearby wilderness areas.

Ladybug Peak stands 3,086 ft above the site, 2.8 miles northeast. A group campground -- most of them shaded. A body of water lies 0.4 mi off. The nearest town, Swift Trail Junction, is 12 mi off.
