Upper Tonto Creek Campground is a small facility set tucked away from the main highway at the confluence of Tonto and Horton Creeks. The site includes six campsites, three picnic sites, and a double vault toilet. The location sits directly adjacent to both creeks, providing immediate access for stream fishing. Trailheads for the Horton Creek Trail and Derrick Trail originate at the camp, connecting directly to the Highline National Recreation Trail.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.
