Setting
Timber Camp Recreation Area lies in a ponderosa pine and juniper landscape within the Timber Camp Mountains. The complex features three main sectors: Brundrett 2, a reservable group gravel lot for up to 150 people with vault toilets, grills, and a pavilion; an equestrian group site with steel corrals, hitching rails, manure bins, and a pavilion; and Brundrett 1, a first-come, first-served area with 13 individual campsites, shade pavilions, tables, and vault toilets. Cross-country horseback riding and OHV use are common nearby, with Salt River Canyon five miles east.
Getting there: From Globe, head north on Highway 60 toward Showlow for about 20 miles. The campground is adjacent to Highway 60 and south of the Seneca Lake Recreation Area.
