Setting
Located 23 miles northeast of Payson on Tonto National Forest at 6,000 feet in ponderosa pine forest below the Mogollon Rim. The campground offers 28 sites in three loops plus three group sites accommodating up to 75 people. Each site has a picnic table, grill, and fire ring; vault toilets and potable water available. Open April–October. $29/night for single sites, $150 for group sites. Trout fishing in Christopher Creek; access to Highline National Recreational Trail. Woods Canyon and Willow Springs Lakes nearby.
Getting there: This facility is located 23 miles northeast of Payson, Arizona, approximately 1.5 miles east of Christopher Creek. From Payson, take Highway 260 east for 23 miles. The campground is on the south side of Highway 260.
