Ponderosa Campground sits along the Mogollon Rim in the Tonto National Forest, shaded by large ponderosa pines with an understory of oak, juniper, and manzanita. The site features 48 flat single campsites and two group sites holding up to 25 people each. An on-site nature trail winds through the grounds. Located 15 minutes west of the Rim Country Lakes, the campground provides access to boating at Woods Canyon Lake as well as nearby hiking trails in the surrounding forest.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
Crowded here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a 52-site campground. The Boy Tank shoreline is 0.9 mi off. Promontory Butte stands 2,218 ft above the site, 5.0 miles northeast. The nearest town, Star Valley, is 6.6 mi off.
