Christopher Creek Campground sits along spring-fed Christopher Creek below the Mogollon Rim in Tonto National Forest. Surrounded by ponderosa pines, junipers, oaks, and manzanita, the facility offers 43 individual sites and one group site for up to 25 people. Payments are processed on site via card only. The creek is stocked each spring with rainbow trout. The town of Christopher Creek is a short drive away, while Woods Canyon Lake and the Rim Country Lakes sit ten minutes to the east, offering boating and hiking trails.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Overhead clearance here is posted at 15 ft -- the tightest site sets the limit. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.

Hunter Creek runs 0.2 mi off. Promontory Butte stands 2,186 ft above the site, 2.7 miles north. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.4 miles off, a 44-site campground. 2 sit on the water -- most of them shaded. The nearest town, Star Valley, is 11 mi off.

September normals 5481°F, 2.3″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
