Designated sites only

U.S. Forest Service allows overnight stays only at the designated sites here.

Crook Group Campground sits in a ponderosa pine forest at 7,500 feet elevation along the Mogollon Rim. Arranged in two cul-de-sac loops, each group site holds up to 110 campers and 26 vehicles, accommodating both tents and RVs via parallel parking spaces. Facilities include a central covered picnic shelter, vault toilets, and access to a nearby dump station and general store. The paved Meadow Trail connects directly to Woods Canyon Lake one mile north for electric-motor boating and trout fishing, while the Rim Trail lies a quarter-mile south with overlooks of the escarpment.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.

Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a 2-site campground. Open country -- nothing named rises within 30 miles of here. A group campground -- most of them shaded. The Woods Canyon Lake shoreline is 1.2 mi off. The nearest town, Star Valley, is 16 mi off.

September normals 4974°F, 2.3″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
