All 7.4 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Dirt the whole way in (7.4 miles). Level ground alongside most of its length. Winds through 5 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch. Cattle guards 3.2, 6.4, 6.8 and 6.8 miles in.

The Lower Tank shoreline is 0.1 mi off. French Joe Peak stands 2,846 ft above the site, 3.9 miles northwest. Private here -- the nearest through road is 1.4 miles off. The nearest town, Whetstone, is 7.1 mi off.
