Setting
Waveland Park Campground is situated on Blue Mountain Lake near Mt. Magazine in western Arkansas. The facility offers 51 shaded campsites with water and electric hookups, plus a day-use group picnic shelter for up to 150 people. On-site amenities include hot showers, a dump station, a boat ramp, a fish cleaning station, a playground, an amphitheater, and a cypress-lined swimming area. The surrounding landscape features mixed pine and hardwood forests, wetlands, bank fishing access, and the nearby J. Perry Mikels bird dog field trial area. Mt. Magazine State Park is 30 minutes away.
Getting there: From Booneville, Arkansas, follow State Highway 10 east for 17 miles to Waveland. Turn right on State Highway 309 and drive for one mile. Turn right again onto Waveland Park Road and continue another mile to Blue Mountain Dam, then follow signs into the park.
