Setting
Springhill Park sits along John Paul Hammerschmidt Lake on the Arkansas River, set among bottomland hardwoods, bluffs, and fields. Campers are drawn to the water for year-round fishing, boating, and sauger fishing below the lock and dam. On land, mountain bikers use the 10-mile Springhill Park Mountain Bike Trail, a fast National Recreation Trail. Facilities include spacious electric campsites, group shelters, showers, a dump station, playground, and boat ramps. Sites sit along the river and Massard Creek, and the Fort Smith Museum of History is a 20-minute drive away.
