Setting
Spillway Recreation Area occupies a small cove on Lake Ouachita in the Ouachita Mountains. This day-use site offers shoreline fishing, a swim beach, a boat ramp, a reservable pavilion, and restrooms. It also provides direct access to the 40-mile Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (LOViT) and hosts the Echo Canyon Resort and Marina.
Getting there: From Hot Springs, AR: Take US 270 west to AR-227 N/Mountain Pine Rd for 6 miles. Continue straight on Blakely Dam road through Mountain Pine and past Blakely Mouantain Dam. Spillway Reacreation area is at the end of Blakely Dam Road
