Setting
Crystal Springs Day-Use Area sits along the shores of Lake Ouachita in the Ouachita Mountains, roughly 10 miles west of Hot Springs National Park. The 40,000-acre lake is fed by the Ouachita River and draws visitors for fishing, water skiing, boating, and scuba diving in clear waters home to striped bass and non-stinging freshwater jellyfish. On-site facilities feature a day-use pavilion with electric hookups, lighting, and picnic tables, along with a playground, swim beach, and a restroom and shower building. The 223-mile Ouachita National Recreation Trail runs just north of the area.
